IMPORTANT: When booking a stay with Griz Inn RMC Rentals, it is is dependent upon acceptance of the following terms and conditions:

Guests are renting a self-contained, privately-owned vacation rental property that is managed on behalf of the owner by Park Vacation Management. Guests are not staying in a hotel-style environment with full services such as daily housekeeping and room service. Please read the following terms and conditions carefully – they are in effect to protect the owner’s investment, and to ensure the guest has an enjoyable and safe stay.

Rates: All rates are per night, based on occupancy indicated, and in Canadian Dollars. Rates are subject to 5% Goods & Service Tax, 8% Provincial Hotel Sales Tax and 3% Fernie Hotel Room Tax. Total tax rate is 16%. Rack rates are subject to change without notice.

Deposits, Payment & Confirmation: SKI SEASON WINTER 23/24:  A non-refundable deposit of $120 CAD (+ tax) is due at time of booking. We cannot guarantee a booking unless a deposit is taken. Final payment is due 30 days prior to arrival. Reservations made less than 30 days before arrival must be paid in full at the time of booking. There are to be no changes to the reservation after this date. NON-SKI SEASON:A credit card guarantee is required to hold a room. A reservation is considered confirmed when a booking number has been assigned. A confirmation will be sent via email.

Reservation Fee: A one-time fee of $20.00 CAD (+ tax) per unit will be charged at the time of booking and applied to the first night of each reservation.

Amenity and Clean Fee: A one-time Amenity and Clean Fee (+ tax) per unit based on the noted rate schedules will be charged at the time of booking and applied to the first night of each reservation.

Revisions: SKI SEASON Changes can be made to any booking more than 30 days prior to arrival with no penalty if the change is within the original booking season. Changes where a booking falls outside of original booking season can be re-booked any time for a period of 12 months and will be subject to a $60 (+ tax) rebooking fee. The deposit will be transferred to the new booking. Subject to availability and rate changes. Non SKI SEASON No changes or alterations to accommodation portion of reservation less than 72 hours prior to arrival. Substitutions and extensions may be allowed without penalty subject to availability.

Cancellations: SKI SEASON Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to arrival can be re-booked any time during the same ski season as current booking. The $120(+ tax) deposit and reservation fee will be transferred to the new booking. If the client is unable to rebook, the $120 (+ tax) deposit will be applied as cancellation fee. Cancellations made less than 30 days prior to arrival are non refundable. There are no refunds or monies paid. Cancellation insurance is strongly recommended. Non SKI SEASON Cancellations made 72 hours (3 days) prior to arrival will have the reservation deposit refunded less the non-refundable $20 reservation fee. The reservation fee can be applied to any re-booking or new reservation made in the same calendar year. Cancellations made less than 3 days prior to arrival will have the deposit applied as cancellation fee. Terms of Payment: Visa, MasterCard, Certified Cheque, Money Order and E-Transfers accepted. All amounts are payable in Canadian Funds. For E-Transfers, the payment details must include the Park Vacation Management Griz Inn reservation number(s).

Rental Age Requirement: Registered occupants must be a minimum of 21 years of age.

Occupancy: Occupancy is strictly limited to the number of beds provided in the unit (sleeper sofas included). Violation of this policy may result in termination of guest occupancy with no refund for the unused portion of the stay.

Guest Services & Check-in: Units will not be available for check-in until 4:00 PM. This time may be adjusted due to Covid-19 restrictions. If units are clean and available earlier, best effort will be made to arrange an earlier check-in. Prior to arrival, the registered occupant will be required to sign a damage waiver prior to receiving keys/access to their reserved property. Arrival and building/unit access codes are to be coordinated with the Park Vacation Management reservations team. Park Vacation Management operates from our primary office in downtown Fernie and maintains an administrative office is located at the Griz Inn. Regular office hours are subject to change as per different times of the year, but as a minimum during periods of occupancy will be:

  • 9am – 5pm, 7 days a week

There are no Guest Services available outside of office hours, only emergency assistance via phone. Where possible, the guest is to provide an estimated arrival time. Arrangements will be made with guest to accommodate after-hour arrivals & check-in.

Check-out: Please be advised that check out time is 11:00 AM. Late checkout requests can occasionally be accommodated but must be approved and arranged through our front desk prior to departure day. Keys and parking cards should be brought back to the front desk at check-out.

Damage Waiver: Guests agree to maintain the property in the same condition it was received upon arrival. Guests are liable for any damages or loss to the premises and the furnishings, equipment and household items that occur during the guest’s occupancy. The registered occupant provides authority to Park Vacation Management to make charges against the pre-authorization provided by the registered occupant, and is responsible for all damages (on a first and third party basis, for repair, remediation or replacement; and if damages are not repairable in whole or in part, for a charge for financial damages per se) and incidental charges including, but not limited to, lost keys, damages and additional cleaning, during their stay. All costs will be assessed within 45 days of departure.

Housekeeping: Housekeeping services are only provided upon departure of guest. The departure clean along with associated amenities is not included in the rental rate and will be added as a separate charge. At the guest’s request, additional housekeeping services will be provided every third day at no additional cost. Requests are to be made prior to arrival or confirmed at time of check-in. All Griz Inn apartment units are self-contained and include fully equipped kitchens stocked with a start-up supply of consumables including a limited amount of liquid dish soap, dishwasher soap, dish cloths and dish towels in all kitchens. These items are not replenished daily. Additional items can be made available to guests on request for a nominal charge. Upon departure, any property found to require extra cleaning beyond a standard departure clean will be subject to additional cleaning charges.

No Smoking: All Griz Inn Units are designated as non-smoking. Any violation of this will result in the loss of guest’s security deposit. All properties, balconies, patios, decks, and common areas are non-smoking. Smoking is also prohibited within 3-meters of all entrances and exits as per British Columbia Tobacco Control Act Regulations.

Pet Policy: Unless designated as a pet-friendly, no pets are allowed in any of the units. Violation of the no pet policy will result in the loss of guest’s security deposit and eviction. Certain properties are designated pet-friendly. A request must be made at the time of booking and is subject to availability. A $40 (+ tax) fee per pet will be applied to cover extra cleaning. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times when outside the reserved property and are not permitted in common areas including but not limited to pools, hot tubs and fitness areas. Additional charges may apply for additional services required because of accidents, damages to property (replacement or repair cost) or noise complaints (including reimbursement required as a result of inconveniencing other guests) due to pets. Park Vacation Management does not guarantee properties are non-allergenic.

Parking: Each unit has one designated parking space for your use during guest’s stay. The Griz Inn has ample parking for our guests; a parking pass is required during the winter season. Griz Inn accepts no liability for any fines or towing charges incurred by the guest.

Quiet Time & Consideration of Others: Quiet time is from 10pm – 7am. Park Vacation Management reserves the right to fine or evict at their discretion, with no refund, on the basis of violation of rental policies including, but not limited to, excessive noise and inappropriate or illegal behavior.

Release of Liability: Park Vacation Management as the rental management company for Griz Inn acts as an agent for the individual property owners of each rental unit and accepts no liability on their behalf. Park Vacation Management will not refund and is not liable for any claims, losses, damages, costs, expenses, delays or loss of enjoyment, of any nature to guests resulting from events beyond the company’s control. Examples include, but are not limited to, weather conditions, snow conditions, lift closures, road closures, and flight delays. Travel insurance is highly recommended.

Due to the nature of ski resorts and winter conditions, there is always the risk of ice/snow in and around carparks, driveways, roads, hot tubs, pools, walkways, etc. Guests must assume these risks and Park Vacation Management does not accept any liability associated with these risks. Park Vacation Management cannot guarantee the operation of common facilities including but not limited to, heat, air conditioning, plumbing, appliances, wireless or wired internet, cable television, fireplaces, pools, hot tubs, elevators or like equipment or amenities. No refunds or discounts will be made upon their failure however every effort will be made to make repairs as soon as possible. Guests use pools and hot tubs at their own risk, and must do so responsibly according to our rules and regulations. Occasionally pools and hot tubs may need to be closed for scheduled or unscheduled maintenance. No refunds or discounts will be given in the event of such a maintenance closure. It is the responsibility of the guest to report, upon check-in any missing items, problems or concerns with a property to Park Vacation Management immediately.

Telephone and Internet Usage: All units have individual phone numbers. Local calls are free and long distance calls can be made with a credit card. Each unit is equipped with a modem and wireless access point offering free high-speed internet access.
