Cross Country Skiing

The extensive cross country ski trail network offers a serene experience coursing through large stands of old growth forest with great views of the valley. Just step out your door from the Griz Inn and you're on the trail.

Fernie Alpine Resort provides several kilometers of track set cross-country trails accessible directly from the front door of the Griz Inn. Trails are groomed consistently throughout ski season.

The City of Fernie and Island Lake Lodge both offer many more kilometers of trackset cross country skiing trails all less than 5 km away from the Griz Inn.

Showshoeing

Looking for a new type of adventure? Snowshoeing through the beautiful Rocky Mountains is an awesome way to enjoy life. Fernie Alpine Resort and Fernie Nature Tours both offer guided snowshoeing excursions.

Sleigh Rides

Evening sleigh rides depart from the Griz Inn front parking lot. Book your seat, before 4pm, at Fernie Alpine Resort's Guest Services desk (next to the ticket office).
