Nice ski in/out. Place was clean and had enough kitchen amenities to eat in our room. Hot tub was nice after a day of hiking and skiing! Roomwas a bit dated, but comfortable and clean.

 

Great time at The Griz Inn!

Great time at The Griz Inn! Felt welcomed, easy access, right on the hill, Rusty Edge bar fun, close & super friendly staff😀😀! Loved the slightly older feel and vibe yet everything worked great and want to go back ASAP👍⛷⛷😀😀

 

Super Comfortable

Super comfortable place to stay. Updated 80s vibe. Feet from the elk chairlift and bunny hill t-bar. The rusty edge restaurant has great specials and surprisingly good vegies and salads. Try their Mediterranean platter for something tasty and guilt free. Outdoor hot tube great for a sore skier at the end of the day. Look forward to our next stay.

Superb. Big place and its clean. Only downside was limited pool hours due to Covid-19

 

 

It was great!

It was great, wish we could have stayed longer! Easy to check in, could unpack over the railing into the truck, and enough room on the balcony for 4 bikes to be chained up. Close enough to run back for lunch and not miss too much riding, close proximity to the Elk Chair 🙂

 

Great Stay

Great stay. room was quiet clean and beds comfortable. Special shoutout to the massive dvd collection under the ottoman!

 

Great location

We stayed at the Griz for 3 nights in a one bedroom suite with kitchen. The facilities are great, heaps of space in the lounge area and a great view from the balcony. The lodge is located right near the pommer and elk chair, and we could pretty much ski to the door. The Rusty Edge pub is part of the building, but we didn’t hear any noise from it on the 2nd floor. The hot tub at the end of the day was beautiful! Would definitely stay here again!

 

Five out of Five Stars

This is one of the better ski out spots that I’ve been. Super convenient to the center of the Fernie Village. Right by the elk chairlift. Wi-Fi and kitchenettes in most rooms. The rusty Edge is in the building as well, which makes for a great Apres spot.

 

Love this place!

We have been here twice in 2016 so I am writing again because I really do love this place. First time was Spring, second time was for New Years. The front desk staff are always very friendly and helpful. I find the rooms are clean and tidy when we check in. Yes, the decor may be a little outdated, but to be honest this is kind of what we like about the place. It’s got a sort of charm to it. They have movies that you can rent downstairs at the front desk for no charge which we utilized this trip. The pool and hot tub area were nice and clean again and not that busy which was great since there was 5 of us. Love the loft as the kids have their own space that way with their own TV and DVD player and full sized bathroom. This is the only place that we like to stay when we go to Fernie.

 

Wedding Guests

We and the majority of guests for our daughter and son-in-law’s wedding stayed at the Griz Inn. It was good to be very close to the Rusty Edge where the reception was held. The different room configurations were great for friends and family and groups.The rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. Lots of people enjoyed the hot tub. The Griz Inn worked well for us and the wedding guests. Thank you!

 

Music Trip

This worked very well for our group of 52 people. It was a school music tour to the Kootenays. Kids cooked in the rooms. The Rusty Edge, restaurant beside the GrizInn worked great for our evening party with the big group!

 

Great place to stay at an affordable price

We have stayed at the Griz many times over the years. This time we stayed in a two-bedroom suite. Although the suite is in need of an upgrade it was clean, spacious and served our needs. The beds were very nice but it would have been nice to have a king instead of the double/queen. The staff at the Griz are very helpful and professional and, in general, the service was great. I would like to reiterate that the Griz does lack amenities for the younger crowd (ages 8 to 14). It would be nice to have a games room (video arcade) as the only game available was in the adjoining restaurant (“Big Buck Hunter” which we must have spent millions of dollars playing!). The location is ideal and getting a slope-side room is a must. We will certainly stay at the Griz again but next time will rent the three-bedroom unit on the third floor which is really awesome. You get lots of bang for your buck and compared to the place beside the Griz (prices were absolutely outrageous) the Griz is THE place to stay. Just to add something: we lucked out on this trip. We were one of the lucky few that hit the unbelievable snowfall on March 16, 2015 (check it out on YouTube) – FANTASTIC!!

Always enjoy The Griz Inn!

We’ve stayed here numerous times over the last 15 years. There are hotel rooms and different sized condo units. We’ve stayed pretty much in all of the units and have never had any issues. The location is on the ski/mountain bike hill. The facility is always kept clean and up to date. Great indoor pool and 2 outdoor spas. There are places to eat in the area and you can’t beat the scenery! Overall, a great place for a family vacation or a romantic getaway!!!
